A memorial is growing outside the west Nashville gas station where a store clerk was fatally shot.
John Stevens was killed Tuesday night inside the Exxon on Charlotte Pike. The store remained closed Thursday morning.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said 28-year-old Daniel Clark and 15-year-old Trinity Quinn are charged in the crime. Police described the incident as "brutal" during a press conference.
Regular customers remembered Stevens as a great man.
"He was the sweetest man, just very kind and just gentle with a sweet soul," Emily Lipman, a business owner, said.
On Wednesday morning, lawmakers also held a moment of silence honoring Stevens.
Thursday, information was released regarding Stevens' funeral. Visitation has been scheduled for 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday at West Harpeth Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at noon.
Stevens will be buried at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on McCrory Lane.
