CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The City of Clarksville honored two Good Samaritans who rescued an 82-year-old woman from her burning car.

Mayor Joe Pitts and Fire Chief Freddie Montgomery gave Sergio Carrillo and Flumencio Brinkley Certificates of Recognition at Thursday’s City Council meeting.

“Ladies and gentlemen, this is Clarksville,” Mayor Pitts said during the ceremony.

The five-car crash happened back in December at the intersection of Warfield Boulevard and Rossview Road.

One of the drivers, Ingeborg Johnson, became trapped in her vehicle. Carrillo and Brinkley broke a window and got her out before the car burst into flames.
