NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Dozens of people stopped by the Metro Animal Care and Control headquarters Saturday afternoon for the shelter's 'ValenTails' event.

The event was put on by Metro Animal Care and Control (MACC) and by the Friends of the MACC, a new organizations made to support the MACC.

Through February 14, pets can be adopted for just a $14 fee. People who want to support the shelter and the animals but can't take home a pet could also pay the adoption fees for a dog.

Workers said about 20 dogs were taken home during the ValenTails event. One volunteer commented that he had never seen the shelter so empty.

People stopping by the shelter could also support the Friends of the MACC through a bake sale and a raffle.
