NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Two special events are being hosted by Metro Animal Care and Control (MACC) this weekend.
MACC is calling the first event Sayonara Summer, and it runs today and Saturday. During this period, adopters can name their adoption fee. Regular adoption fees are $40 for cats, $60 for kittens and $90 for dogs and puppies.
All pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on their vaccinations.
Following Sayonara Summer, MACC is hosting Bow Wow Breakout, a program they're offering for Labor Day. Nashville pet lovers are being asked if they have room for a four-legged friend to spend a few nights with them while the shelter is closed on Monday for the holiday.
To sign up for Bow Wow Breakout, first head here and fill out the foster form. Then, head over to MACC's shelter on Sunday, September 1, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., meet the dogs, and take one home for the holiday weekend. After the weekend, dogs can be returned to MACC when the shelter re-opens on Tuesday, September 3 at 10 a.m.
The shelter adoption floor at MACC is currently at capacity. They hope these two "Unofficial End of Summer" events help the pets they have find homes.
MACC's shelter is located at 5125 Harding Place in Nashville.
While MACC's shelter will be closed on Labor Day, Animal Control Officers will be on call to respond to emergencies.
