A Metro Nashville Police bicycle officer has been decommissioned after working while under the influence of alcohol.
Jason Gross was charged with the misdemeanor of possessing a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.
The department received information that Gross was drinking on the job just after 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Gross voluntarily took a breath alcohol test two hours later. It registered at .027%.
The police department’s Office of Professional Accountability has conducted an administrative investigation of Gross, who was assigned to desk duty.
Gross, 34, is a four-year police department veteran.
