NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Metro Police officer was involved in a crash while responding to another crash involving a stolen vehicle.
The officer was trying to close Dickerson Pike to northbound traffic in response to the primary crash which happened minutes before.
The original crash involved three vehicles. One of the vehicles was reported. The driver got away from officers when they tried to initiate a traffic stop. Officials say the driver erratically drove away at a high rate of speed. Officers didn't pursue the vehicle, but put the information on their radio. A short time later, the vehicle was involved in the crash.
While trying to close the road for that crash, a driver pulled into the intersection, leading to both vehicles coming into contact. The Police cruiser sustained very minor damage to the front bumper and the citizens vehicle sustained minor damage to the front driver’s side door/driver’s side quarter-panel.
