Metro officer treated after exposure to heroin

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Metro Nashville police officer was taken to an area hospital for treatment after being exposed to heroin.

A call for an ambulance came out Thursday morning at an apartment complex on Hillsboro Pike.

Metro police said the officer was exposed while assisting the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation with serving a search warrant.

Police on scene confirmed that the officer was exposed to heroin and was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for evaluation. He’s going to be OK.

No additional details were known.
