NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Early Friday morning, a small group of Metro Nashville police officers were seen gathering at the site where Officer John Anderson was killed.

Officer John Anderson died in a crash near Nissan Stadium in the morning hours of the Fourth of July.

Early Friday morning, a group of officers was seen gathering in a circle at the corner of the intersection. Their patrol cars were parked along the side of the road with their blue lights flashing. An overnight captain with Metro Police said the officers were having some reflection time together.

Officer Anderson worked at MNPD's Central Precinct for his four year career. Fellow members of the C-Detail, which works the overnight hours, were given a week off from work following the tragic crash that killed Officer Anderson. They returned to work Thursday morning.

Officer Anderson left behind an 18-month-old son. A fundraiser was started to collect money for the child. For full coverage and information on how to donate, click here.
