Officers were called to an area in Madison after a 19-year-old was shot.
The incident happened Wednesday around 10 p.m. in the 3000 block of Barbara Lynn Way.
Authorities said the victim, identified as Joshua Gift, was found inside the home with a gunshot wound to his hip.
Witnesses told police they heard gunshots fired from an unknown vehicle outside the home.
Multiple shell casings were found in the street in addition to bullet holes inside the home.
Gift was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
This wasn't the first shooting on this street. One month ago, officers were dispatched to Barbara Lynn Way regarding a 16-year-old female who had been shot.

The victim was seated on the front porch of the resident and her brother, who was likely the intended target, was in the front yard, when a silver Nissan sedan drove down Lauren Evelyn Way toward the residence and fired several shots.
