NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Metro police officer was involved in an early morning crash on Interstate 24 near the Interstate 65 split Friday morning.
Police said the officer was parked on the interstate to help with a road closure when a red pickup truck slammed into the back of the cruiser.
Both the officer and the driver were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure, but police say their injuries were not serious. The officer, identified as Pam Caulder, was later discharged from the hospital.
Due to the impact of the crash, both vehicles had to be towed.
Metro police said the driver, 25-year-old Kiana Kom-Loomis, was charged with DUI after she was treated at the hospital. This is her second DUI arrest this year.
