Investigators with the Metro Nashville Police Department have asked for the public’s help in identifying a serial bank robber.

Surveillance video showed the man robbing the US Bank’s branch inside the Publix grocery store at 4670 Lebanon Pike Thursday afternoon.

However, the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force believed he was also behind the robberies of the SunTrust Bank branch at 1715 West End Avenue on April 22, and Regions Bank Branch at 1140 Nashville Pike in Gallatin, Tennessee, on April 25.

During both of those, the robber wore a fake beard.

Witnesses at the US Bank branch told police the robber appeared to be in his 40s and wore a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a white construction helmet, but was without the beard.

He approached a teller and passed a note demanding money. After the teller complied, the man walked out of the grocery store.  It was unclear whether a vehicle was waiting for him.

About an hour before Thursday's robbery, the same man - this time, wearing the fake beard - was believed to have entered the Regions Bank branch at 599 Gallatin Avenue in East Nashville.

He was approached by bank employees, and wound up leaving without making any robbery demands.

Anyone with information about the robber was asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
