NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — You are waking up to a fresh blanket of snow across the Mid-State. In Nashville, Metro Public Works crews are staying busy getting roads cleared as we are going into day five of this winter weather.

So far, Metro Public Works has used around 6,000 tons of salt and has around 3,000 tons left. Their crews are continuing 12-hour shifts, assisting emergency response vehicles and plowing/salting 1,800 miles of roads in Nashville.

When it comes to emergencies, there's been a lot. At Metro’s emergency communications center, 911 dispatchers have dealt with 8,000 calls since Saturday.
