NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the plateau area starting 11 p.m. Thursday to 12 p.m. Friday as rain and a few spotty snow showers are expected.
Clouds will increase tonight, but we will remain dry as temperatures dip to near freezing. Thursday afternoon, showers will overspread the area, but with temperatures above freezing, it will remain all rain.
As temperatures fall Friday morning, rain looks to transition into spotty snow showers. Not everyone will get to see the snow and most of what falls look to melt on roadways keeping them wet early Friday. Right now we think any slick spots would be across the Cumberland Plateau.
This is where we expect to see the highest accumulations along the Plateau, where they could see up to 1"-2" of snow. A dusting is possible as far west as the I-65 corridor.
It will be much colder for Friday and Saturday with highs in the 30s for most locations. Make sure you stay with the Storm 5 Weather team for updates on this forecast.
