Campground Tenants Forced To Move Out

A disabled woman and her husband said they have been being forced out of Owl's Roost Campground on Bethel Road.

Eddie Noland said the process started a few weeks ago when they received a note from the main office letting them know they were attempting to be in compliance with the code's department.

They asked Noland and other tenants to remove a few things around their camper "no more porches, no more railings or roofing" said Noland.

He removed the skirting around his camper, and lowered the deck to the ground, but he said removing the railing on the front porch was out of the question because his wife is disabled.

"As long as we can produce a letter from her primary care physician stating that she was disabled the hand rails could stay" said Noland.

Even after all this, he said he still has to move and without a job and being a convicted sex offender, finding a new property to park their camper is going to be difficult.

"We really don't wanna go too far but we don't really have a place to go" said Noland.

The campground's attorney said the owners were simply trying to bring the property up to code. They wanted to run a high quality campground that's in compliance with the law.

Eddie feared there could be other tenants going through the same thing, but finding a new place was his only concern.
