The body of a missing Rutherford County man was pulled from the water near Walter Hill Dam.
Authorities said 59-year-old Walter Corley went missing Sunday near the dam, where he frequently visited a park near by. Family members reported last having contact with him around 3 p.m.
Search crews found some items that belonged to him Monday morning then found is body in the river near the dam.
Several agencies from Rutherford County and Lascassas conducted the searches. Officials believed the cause of death was drowning.
However, they pointed out that the investigation was ongoing.
