So many toys and gifts were donated to the Metro Nashville Police Department’s Christmas Basket Program, that they will help a record number of 613 children.
The donations came from police department personnel and the Nashville community, as well as fundraisers through the Boswell Harley Owners Group.
Officers will give out the baskets on Christmas Eve morning. They will go to 178 families throughout Nashville.
In addition to toys for the kids, each family will receive four bushel baskets of food, topped off this year by 10-14 pound turkeys donated by Piedmont Natural Gas.
