NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Police are investigating a fatal shooting Monday evening in the Cayce Homes housing development.
Police said 28-year-old Shaquille Cotton was killed in what was a targeted shooting just before 5 p.m. Monday. Cotton was standing at the passenger side of a vehicle on S. Seventh Street speaking to people inside when someone approached him from behind and opened fire.
Cotton died shortly after he was taken to the hospital.
No one is in custody at this time, but MNPD said active leads are being pursued. Police released the following surveillance photo of who investigators believe was the gunman.
