CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Thousands of dollars’ worth of beer was seized from a store where employees had allegedly been selling alcohol to minors.

Authorities said the Golf Club Food Mart in the 2100 block of Golf Club Lane was cited for selling alcohol to persons under 21 on four different occasions.

On Thursday, agents seized the entire inventory of beer at the store during the execution of an alcohol search warrant. Officials said the retail value of the seized alcohol was estimated to be more than $35,000.

The citation was for violations dating back to May 2014.

The store’s beer permit was suspended for six months on Tuesday by the Clarksville City Beer Board for a violation that took place June 30.

The store was allegedly found to be selling beer without a permit on Thursday.

Officials said criminal charges were pending.
