The search continued for answers in the mysterious cold case disappearance of a teen who police said could have last been spotted in the Franklin-area nearly six years ago.
Police recovered the truck that 18-year-old Nieko Lisi was driving, but other than that, the case has gone cold.
His mother spent the day canvassing the area near Flintlock Drive in Franklin where Nieko’s cell phone was last picked up by a cell tower nearby.
Nieko Lisi was 18 years old when he went missing back in 2011. He's originally from New York, but he spent his junior year of high school in Franklin as a student.
He went on a road trip nearly six years ago and hasn’t been seen since.
In 2016, police in New York got a tip, and they came down to Franklin where they found Nieko’s truck stripped down - leading police to be concerned about foul play in his disappearance.
Police from New York said they’ve interviewed some people of interest, but the case has still gone cold.
Nieko’s mother told us she believes her son is likely dead.
She told us she would do anything to find out more answers about what happened to her son.
“It’s an everyday battle,” said Konica Button, Nieko’s mother. “You learn as time goes on you can cope with different things, but still, my life will never be the same.”
The Lisi family has been offering a $2,500 reward for information about Nieko Lisi's whereabouts. Franklin Police and Crime Stoppers have also been offering an additional reward of up to $1,000 for information.
