Motorcyclist Dies After Crash In Franklin

A 44-year-old motorcyclist has died following a collision with an SUV in Franklin.

The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on East McEwen Drive near Carothers Parkway.

Officials with Franklin Police said the motorcycle and SUV were both traveling east when a 50-year-old female driver changed lanes, knocking the motorcycle onto a curb.

The motorcyclist, identified as Patrick Sturdivant, was thrown and collided with a tree. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he passed away.

No charges have been filed at this time. The investigation remained ongoing.
