A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a dangerous hit-and-run crash on Interstate 40 in Davidson County.
The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. Monday.
The rider told investigators with the Metro Nashville Police Department he was on I-40 in Donelson when an SUV changed lanes and bumped into him.
Despite the potentially-deadly crash, the driver of the SUV kept going.
Officials said they believe the driver might not have even known he hit the motorcyclist.
The 45-year-old motorcycle driver was able to pull off the interstate and pull into a gas station on Donelson Pike.
The man was transported by ambulance to TriStar Summit Medical Center to be treated for his injuries. Police said the victim suffered a broken hip, but was expected to make a full recovery.
Officials have advised drivers to be aware of motorcycles driving on the roadway and to give them plenty of room.
Anyone with information about the crash should contact the Metro Nashville Police Department.
