A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital after slamming into the back of a police car.
The wreck happened early Wednesday morning at the intersection of Old Nashville Highway and Rocky Fork Road in Smyrna.
The officer was not injured, but the motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in unknown condition.
State troopers have been investigating the crash.
