A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Elm Hill Pike at Spence Lane.

The wreck happened just before 12:15 a.m. Sunday and involved the motorcycle and a Chevrolet Impala.

Reports stated the Impala was turning left from Elm Hill Pike onto Spence Lane, while the motorcyclist was coming from the other direction on Elm Hill Pike.

The two collided, and police said the motorcyclist was thrown from his motorcycle.

Officials identified the motorcyclist as 51-year-old Roger Dansby. He was taken to the hospital where he died.

The driver of the Impala, identified as 48-year-old Carol Baker, was not injured. She told officials she did not see any oncoming traffic when she started turning left on a green light.

Authorities said they reconstructed the crash scene and have been working to determine who had the right of way.
