MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — A crash involving at least five vehicles has closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 24 in Rutherford County on Thursday night.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 5:30 p.m. near mile marker 74. Troopers said serious injuries were reported and later confirmed one fatality.
Drivers should avoid the area if possible. All westbound lanes are closed and are not expected to reopen until 11 p.m.
