MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WTVF) — Heavy rain caused messy conditions across Nashville Wednesday morning, particularly along Interstate 40.
A series of hydroplane crashes closed a portion of Interstate 40 eastbound as weather moved through the area.

Eastbound lanes of I-40 were closed due to hydroplane-related crashes near Central Pike. Police said this is a particularly dangerous area for wrecks because it's located in a curve.
Drivers should use caution this morning and be aware of first responders.
