NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man wanted for a fatal stabbing in Nashville in October 2019 was arrested Wednesday.

Metro police (MNPD) say Omar Guillen-Garcia, 23, was wanted for the murder of Leonard McKnight Jr., 43, in the parking lot of a Murfreesboro Pike convenience store.

An MNPD officer stopped at a store on Nolensville Pike for a routine business check. While there, a person told him Guillen-Garcia was also in the store.

The officer took Guillen-Garcia into custody, after which a detective questioned him. During the questioning, Guillen-Garcia admitted to stabbing McKnight.

The investigation shows McKnight was fatally wounded during an argument and fight with Guillen-Garcia, after Guillen-Garcia refused to buy McKnight a cup of coffee.

Guillen-Garcia is jailed without bond.
