The Murfreesboro City Manager has named James "Karl" Durr as the new Murfreesboro Chief of Police.
He was the top pick of more than 69 applicants across the country to get the job, and hails from Eugene, Oregon, where he was the Assistant Chief of Police.
Durr took on the new role in April, and replaced retired Chief Glenn Chrisman.
