Murfreesboro Man Charged In Shooting Death Of Girlfriend

A Murfreesboro man was arrested after allegedly shooting and killing his girlfriend.

According to Murfreesboro Police officials, 27-year-old Brandon Robichaud shot and killed his girlfriend, 37-year-old Leanne Austin.

The shooting was reported just after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Towne Suites on Old Fort Parkway. The initial report was about Robichaud sitting on West Main Street near Bridge Avenue.

He had allegedly been saying to witnesses he shot someone, but witnesses reported that he then ran back toward the home.

Police found him at the back of the complex and found Austin in the room where she had suffered a fatal gunshot wound. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Robichaud was taken into custody at the scene and has been charged with First Degree Murder. He is
currently at the Rutherford County Adult Detention center being held without bond.
