A 32-year-old man has been indicted in Murfreesboro for the alleged rape of a child while out on bond for other sex charges.
According to documents from Murfreesboro police, William Tate Hightower was arrested on July 14 on multiple charges regarding the alleged sexual abuse of a 12-year-old girl.
Hightower made bond on those charges.
During that time, authorities were investigating another allegation involving him and a 10-year-old girl, the police report said.
That case was presented to a grand jury this month. Hightower has now been indicted on five counts of rape of a child, five counts of aggravated sexual battery and two counts of exploitation of a minor.
His bond was set at $150,000. A court date was scheduled for October 16.
