Home-grown singer, Chris Young, was honored on a legendary stage as he was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.
Fellow artist and friends Vince Gill surprised the Murfreesboro native with the invite in August.
“It's amazing. Just the fact that it was Vince that did it. The fact that they totally got something past me, which I pride myself on not ever getting surprised, because I don't like surprises. I'll take that one,” said Young. “That was a really good surprise."
The Middle Tennessee native has joined iconic entertainers like Minnie Pearl, Willie Nelson and George Jones as a member of the Opry family.
Chris's new album, Losing Sleep, was scheduled to be released Friday. He planned to off his world tour in January.
