Police have asked the public’s help for information after a man was fatally shot in Murfreesboro.
Police were first called to investigate a shots fired call around 9 p.m. Monday in an area of East Street and Ewing Boulevard.
Investigators said a man was found shot multiple times in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.
He was treated at the scene and taken to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
He was identified as 38-year-old James Matthew Poynter.
No suspect information was available. The investigation remained ongoing.
