MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — Murfreesboro Police investigated two overnight shootings that happened within minutes of each other early Monday morning.

The first shooting was reported at Sam's Sports Grill in the Stones River Town Centre at about 12:45a.m. Officers said 34-year-old Daniel Lee McCracken, of Battle Creek Michigan, was shot and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment, where he is listed as stable.

Investigators still haven't determined a motive in that shooting.

Within an hour of that first shooting, officers were called to another shooting at a home on Hancock Street. According to police, 48-year-old Darnell Lamar Mayer, of Murfreesboro, was critically injured in that shooting. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.

Officers do not have a description of the gunman in either case. The police department believes the shootings are unrelated.
