MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police responded to a shooting overnight in Murfreesboro. The victim of the shooting has been identified as Darnell Mayer, aka "Deuce."
The incident happened around 2 a.m. Thursday at an apartment complex on Greenland Drive.
According to Murfreesboro Police Department, Mayer was found lying in front of the complex with multiple gunshot wounds.
Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services began treating Mayer on scene. He was then transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center via LifeFlight helicopter where he underwent surgery.
Mayer is listed in stable condition.
Detectives are looking for the shooter, as well as a dark-colored sedan that was seen speeding away after the shooting.
