Murfreesboro Woman Dies Following Weekend Crash

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A Rutherford County woman, who was seriously injured in a crash over the weekend, has died as a result of her injuries.

Officials with Murfreesboro police said 38-year-old Kimberly Simpson, of Murfreesboro, passed away following a crash late Saturday night.

The wreck happened around 11:09 p.m. at the intersection of Fortress Drive and Old Fort Parkway.

Authorities said Simpson’s SUV attempted to make a left turn at the intersection and struck a concrete-metal signal pole.

Simpson was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, but she later died.

Police have not released any additional information.
