After hosting more than a 200 events, the Music City Center generated more than $200 million over the past fiscal year.
Center officials released the year’s numbers Tuesday, and saying that the 2017 fiscal year “…is shaping up to be just as busy.”
In March alone, the Music City Center hosted 17 events with 22,193 attendees, which in turn generated 19,688 room nights for a total of $21.2 million in economic impact.
Over the fiscal year-to-date, the building has hosted 207 events with 422,976 attendees, generating a total of $226.9 million in economic impact.
“This spring continues to be incredibly busy for us. In just these last two weeks we have hosted 39 individual groups including this weekend’s perennial favorite, the Southern Women’s Show,” said Charles Starks, President/CEO of the Music City Center.
Officials reported that tax collections continued to outperform expectations, and the Music City Center portion of tax collections was up 9.5% year over year for January.
