One local organization worked to make sure every child is able to ride a bicycle.
More than 50 people gathered with Music City Trykes Friday to build 30 customized adaptive tricycles, or AmTrykes, for local children with special needs.
The special designs allow children with disabilities, ranging from things like cerebral palsy to visual impairment, to ride the bikes, who would otherwise never have the opportunity to do so.
So far, the organization has built and fitted more than 375 AmTrykes for kids in Middle Tennessee, but it's not just the kids who are affected by the tricycles.
"And the families ... you have some parents that cry because their kid is riding a bike for the first time. I mean it's wonderful. It's a wonderful experience," said Heidi Kessler.
Those 30 families will get to watch their kids get fitted for their AmTrykes at a special giveaway event tomorrow afternoon.
