Farmers Market and city officials kicked off renovations on the north and south sides of the market.
They announced the "Growing Together" program at Tuesday's event. The initiative will focus on working more intentionally with the city to create a pathway for growth with local small food and artisan businesses.
The renovation project is scheduled to be completed in spring of 2019.
More than 70 percent of the contracts were awarded to minority, woman and veteran-owned businesses.
