Reflecting on the past and looking to the future was the theme of an event that brought together people at Gordon Jewish Community Center in Nashville.
A ceremony marked the 10th anniversary of the Nashville Holocaust Memorial.
Mayor Megan Barry and local rabbis were on hand for the event on Sunday.
A new art exhibit called “Under One Roof” also opened that featured work from more than 20 local organizations.
The theme was "reflection, remembrance, and resilience." It's a message that participants said has been an important one.
“When hundreds of people come together and hear the message and incorporate the message, we are all the same inside, and what we are like outside doesn't make much difference. It is up to us to create a better world together,” said Felicia Anchor, Chair of the Nashville Holocaust Memorial.
The "Under One Roof" exhibit, free to the public, has been scheduled to run from October 4 through October 18.
