More than 1,000 people had been rescued overnight due to record flooding in the sprawling Houston area, according to meteorologist Jeff Lindner with Harris County's Flood Control District.
NewsChannel 5 has partnered with the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee to set up a fund helping storm victims in Texas.
Other ways to donate include giving to the Red Cross by visiting redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS, or texting the word HARVEY to 90-999 to make a $10 donation.
