NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Nashville Humane Association is holding a pet food bank for furloughed federal workers who’ve been affected by the government shutdown.
Pet owners can pick up free food and supplies from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Monday at the shelter, located on Oceola Avenue.
"NHA is here to serve our community and we realize that many federal employees are facing a difficult situation with the government shutdown," said Laura Chavarria, NHA Executive Director. "As Nashville's not-for-profit city shelter we're here to help pets and pet-owners in our pet-loving community, and hopefully some free pet food and supplies will make things just a little bit easier for furloughed employees."
To participate, you must show your federal ID or similar federal employee identification.
