Nashville Man Charged In Penn State Fraternity Hazing Death

A Nashville man has been charged in connection with the fraternity hazing death of a student at Penn State University.

Officials said Jonah Neuman is among 18 defendants in the case and faces several charges, including aggravated assault and involuntary manslaughter. The 19-year-old attended Battle Ground Academy in Franklin.  

According to the school's roster, he was a member of the wrestling team. 
 
Police said members of Beta Theta Pi fraternity forced Timothy Piazza to drink excessively, causing him to fall 15 feet down basement stairs and hit his head. 

According to PennLive.com, Neuman reportedly slammed a fellow pledge against the wall when he suggested they call for help. 

The 19-year-old Piazza died the following morning. 

The Beta Theta Pi fraternity has been permanently banned from Penn State's campus as the the criminal case moves forward.
