Nashville Man Pleads Guilty To 2014 Bank Robbery

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Nashville man has pleaded guilty to robbing a Davidson County bank in 2014.

Officials with the U.S. Attorney’s Office said 36-year-old Kershawn Globe pleaded guilty to armed bank robbery and use of a firearm during a federal crime of violence on Monday.

Globe robbed the 5/3 Bank on East Thompson Lane in Nashville on August 2, 2014.

Officials said he robbed the bank of $6,511.00 at gunpoint, then escaped from police, carjacked a minivan, and eventually met up with his sister, who drove him away.

Globe was captured on August 7, 2014, in Memphis.

As part of his plea agreement, Globe will serve 18 years for the bank robbery and seven additional years for the firearm charge for a combined total of 25 years in prison.

There is no parole in the federal system.
