Nashville Mayor Megan Barry deemed May 10 as Ryman Auditorium Day.
The naming came on the heels of the venue's 125th anniversary.
The venue is commonly known as the "Mother Church of country music." because of its history in country music.
To mark the occasion, Ryman favorite, Vince Gill, talked about his first time playing the iconic venue.
The Ryman will be hosting several special performances and exhibits throughout the year to honor its milestone anniversary.
