A second suspect wanted in a 2014 murder in Nashville has been taken into custody.
Officials said 20-year-old Takyris Simms was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail at 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Simms had been wanted in connection with the deadly shooting of Jorge Garnica on August 22, 2014. He was only 16 at the time of the crime.
Simms had been on the run since escaping a group home for juveniles last January. Metro Police issued an arrest warrant on criminal homicide charges for him this past February.
Reports stated Garnica had been talking to a friend on his phone when the friend heard noises in the background and the call ended. Garnica was later found fatally wounded on the steps of his apartment building. It's believed he was shot during a robbery.
Shaquay Dodd, age 20, was arrested in 2016 and charged with first degree murder. His criminal case was pending.
