Nashville shooting victim dies from injuries

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Lebanon man injured in a shooting in the Glengarry area of Nashville has died from his injuries.

It happened February 5 around 9 p.m. on Glengarry Drive near the intersection of Murfreesboro Pike.

According to Metro Nashville Police officials, 47-year-old Dagoberto Utera-Gonzalez suffered wounds to his upper torso and leg.

A South Precinct sergeant happened to have turned onto Glengarry Drive just after the shooting occurred and saw a man running from Utera-Gonzalez.

The sergeant stayed with Utera-Gonzalez to give him emergency first aid and call an ambulance. Utera-Gonzalez died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center on Thursday.

South Precinct detectives are continuing in their efforts to identify the man responsible for Utera-Gonzalez’s death.
