NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Below freezing temperatures have prompted Nashville to open its overflow shelter.
Nashville’s Emergency Operations Center tweeted Tuesday that the overflow shelter will be open from 7 p.m. Wednesday until 7 a.m. Thursday. It’s located at the vacant Davidson County Sheriff’s Office at 5131 Harding Place.
Temperatures are predicted to drop below 28 degrees Fahrenheit on Wednesday 12/11/19. Metro will open an overflow shelter at a vacant DCSO dormitory, at 5131 Harding Place, from 7 pm Wednesday to 7 am Thursday.

Metro’s Cold Weather Overflow Shelter is activated when the local forecast reaches 28 degrees or below.
There will be a staging area at the Salvation Army on Dickerson Pike. The EOC encouraged everyone to utilize the Room In The Inn and the Nashville Rescue Mission. Young people, ages 18-24, can also use Launch Pad.
