A Nashville woman was charged with murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated child neglect in connection with the death of her 11-month-old son.
Youth Services detectives charged 28-year-old Ashley Lenal Crowder on Thursday with first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated child neglect.
Crowder brought her son, Roger Kenneth Harris, to Centennial Medical Center on July 28 after he stopped breathing and became unresponsive.
Crowder reported that Roger had been suffering from unusual and concerning symptoms for several days, which became worse.
The investigation, led by Detective Brett Kenney, revealed that Roger suffered from what was described as an “abdominal catastrophe” as well as other internal and external injuries.
Crowder was jailed in lieu of $200,000 bond.
