Carson joins fellow GOP dropout and New Jersey governor Chris Christie in endorsing Trump. The retired neurosurgeon will back the bombastic businessman despite numerous calls for civility among candidates throughout his campaign.

Carson led the GOP field briefly in October, but failed to capitalize on the momentum. He officially ended his campaign last Friday.
