The Federal Emergency Management Agency created a website to stop false news from spreading as Hurricane Florence creeps closer to landfall.

The agency’s web page debunks rumors and hoaxes about the hurricane.

Some of the rumors listed include how service animals are not being allowed in shelters, and that the agency isn’t prepared for the hurricane.

FEMA posted on its official Twitter account expressing how critical it is to not spread false information during natural disasters.

Many rumors circulated last year when Hurricane Irma hit Florida.

Thousands of people were fooled by an online hoax that called Irma a Category 6 hurricane.
