Kansas City man spreads kindness to strangers in form of $100 bills

A Kansas City business man who has done well for himself and his family often leaves large tips for servers in hopes of making a stranger's day a little brighter.

He's never documented his deliveries, but allowed 41 Action News Anchor Christa Dubill to document the exchange on one condition -- conceal his identity.

The first stop was Corner Restaurant in Westport.

The good Samaritan came in and sat at a table where our cameras could see him.

His server, Courtney Cain, was kind, took his order and went about her work. When she came by to take the man's order, he told her wasn't actually eating but was leaving her something.

It was an envelope with the word "TIP" written in black sharpie. She was already moved by his gesture, and gave him a hug when he left.

Our cameras hoped to catch Courtney opening the envelope, but she put it in her apron and went on serving her other customers.

Her boss had to go get her so we could capture her surprise.

The next location was First Watch in Westport.

Mauricio Olivares has been a server for 10 years. He is a fast-moving, kind man who works hard and with a smile.

The good Samaritan came in restaurant and was seated in Mauricio's section.

After ordering a meal to go, the man pulled out a white envelope with the word "TIP" written in black sharpie. As Christa and Rex moved in with their cameras rolling, the good Samaritan ducked out.
